Strategic research: applied and adaptive

Abstract

Applied research seeks to generate technological alternatives from acquired knowledge, it is developed according to its application with or without further refinement for the identified purposes. Adaptive research capitalizes on existing knowledge, to be finalized and submitted for adoption by the final beneficiaries, with a specific utility for a place or country. Adaptive research is relevant for the productive systems approach, where beneficiaries are involved in its implementation.
