Digital system of unique registration to researchers: ORCID
Keywords:
Digital identifier, researcher profile, ORCID, scientific productionAbstract
The constant publication of research works in different journals, makes it difficult to correctly identify and recover the scientific production of the researchers. This problem led to different organizations interested in creating a permanent single registry for authors, such as: ORCID (Open Researcher and Contribution ID), ResearcherID, Scopus Author ID, authors Redalyc, DOI (Digital Object Identifier), VIAF (Virtual International Authority File) and ISNI (International Standard Name Identifier). In recent years, ORCID has become one of the greatest possibilities to become universal in order to achieve the visibility and positioning of authors dedicated to research. Also, raise the academic level of universities and science and technology institutions in the international context. The use of the unique digital identification system is an appropriate way for the correct affiliation of an author. Which facilitates the individual and institutional control of scientific production, and is a positive step to improve the management of research.
