The objective of this research was to evaluate the microscopic characteristics of llama semen (Lama glama) cryopreserved in two diluents. The study, was developed in Kallutaca, of the career of Veterinary Medicine of the UPEA. 30 ejaculates obtained by electroejaculation of 12 male llamas of different ages were processed. The semen was mixed in a 1: 1 ratio with diluter based on AndroMed and pineapple juice (0.25: 0.75).The treatments were: AndroMed-Fixed and Tris-Yema-glycerol. The variables evaluated were: sperm motility (%) and sperm vitality (%). When comparing the variables in the frozen-thawed semen, significant differences were found (P <0.05) between diluters, for sperm motility (%) and sperm vitality (%), obtaining a post-frozen sperm motility of 33.52% and 27.09%. with AndroMed-Fixed and Tris-Yema-glycerol respectively, in the same way, 52.58% and 49.38% were obtained for post-frozen sperm vitality. Post-freeze results show that it is possible to keep cryopreserved sperm in both diluents thanks to the process prior to freezing.
